For several years I’ve felt a pull to be more involved in public service at a higher level. I’ve been a hospital employee, a struggling single mom at the same time I was a college student, and always a hard worker and dedicated employee trying to make a good life for myself and my family. I understand how difficult it can be to make ends meet and I felt very lucky to finally make a stable, secure income when I moved to Nevada.
When I saw that Senate District 16 had no opponent to the incumbent, I jumped at the chance to fill the Democratic candidate spot. As a legislator I want to make life easier for working class families by implementing good quality of life legislation, to include living wages, affordable healthcare, housing, and college or technical training, and keeping social safety nets available for when they are needed. I want to ramp up our education funding so Nevada kids have a shot at being competitive in college or the work force. I will guarantee that the civil rights and equal rights of everyone in this state are recognized and respected.
